EF English course types

Intensive English course
EF recommends an Intensive English course for students who need to learn English as rapidly as possible. Intensive courses are offered in all English-speaking destinations.

General English course
This English course is carefully structured for students to progress one skill level every six weeks. It is designed for students who want to learn English by gaining a sound understanding of the essential disciplines of the English language through a well-rounded program. The General English course is available in all destinations for students of any level, from absolute beginners to advanced.

Basic English course
A Basic English course with EF will help you learn English for use in practical situations, while still leaving plenty of time for relaxing and exploring. Combine a relaxing holiday abroad with 20 morning and afternoon English lessons a week.

English Exam Preparation Courses
If you are preparing for a standardized English test like the TOEFL, TOEIC or Cambridge exam, and EF English exam preparation courses is an excellent way to make sure you learn the English skills you will need on exam day.

EF has developed expertise in preparing students for the iBT, or internet-based TOEFL, that is becoming standard throughout the world for testing English language skills. A passing TOEFL score is an admission requirement for more than 6000 colleges & universities, particularly in the USA and Canada. The TOEIC, Test of English for International Communication, is especially popular in the business world where some companies use it as part of their hiring and promotion process. The Cambridge ESOL Exams are a range of certificates for English learners. Taken by nearly 2 million people each year, passing scores help you to gain entry to university or to improve job prospects. At EF, we offer complete Cambridge exam preparation courses for all the exam levels, from the Preliminary English Test at Intermediate Level through First Certificate at Upper Intermediate, to the Cambridge Advanced English exam, and then finally, the Certificate of Proficiency — the highest level exam offered. The Cambridge Business English Certificate tests students' knowledge of the English as used in a business environment. This business exam is given at three levels from Intermediate to Advanced.

IELTS, the International English Language Testing System, is required for entry to university in the UK and recognized by universities and employers in many other countries.
