Our high school has hosted at least five EF students each year since 1992. We always encourage them to get involved with as many activities as they can handle, whether that's athletic, musical, or extra-curricular. Try new things! It's the best way to fit in quickly. Although each school is different, our school is very fortunate to offer 17 different sports and 35 different clubs, including the class play, debate team and band.
Everyone wins in the exchange!
One of the keys to success in life lies in the ability to network with other people. The exchange experience allows our students to interact with international students. We learn about other cultures from them, and they learn about the American culture from us.
Expanding horizons!
The program opens doors of opportunities for a lifetime. When students return back to their home countries, their language skills and sensitivities to other cultures gives them an excellent advantage in school and in the job market. A few students have even returned to the US for college. Marco from Germany attends Harvard and Matteo from Italy went onto Georgetown University.
Lasting friendships
Many of the students develop such a strong bond with their friends, teachers and host families that they continue to stay in contact long after the year has ended. They have created friendships that will last a lifetime.
